Volunteer Program

"Bikkur Cholim," or visiting the sick, is a pillar of the beliefs of the Jewish Home and Care Center. We are proud of the many volunteers who have ranged in age from 1 to 106 and who add quality to the lives of our residents in almost every area of the Home. Volunteers of varying abilities and talents are most welcome.

• The Gift Shops at the Jewish Home and at the Sarah Chudnow Campus are run completely by volunteers, and, as a result, all profits can be used to directly benefit residents.
• Volunteer visitors give the precious gift of time on a regular basis.
• The award-winning Caring Partner volunteer program has been recognized as a national leader in innovative end-of-life care.
• Our "terrific teens" help with parties and special programs.Other volunteering opportunities include accompanying residents on outings, assisting with clerical duties such as mailings, and serving as hostess in the Rubenstein Family Kosher Oasis, our kosher café or at resident events.

Our volunteer program has been developed to provide opportunities for any schedule, and our volunteers easily develop a schedule of visits from once a week to once or twice a year.

Our volunteer program is supported by Hand in Hand: Partners in Caring with the Jewish Home and Care Center. Hand in Hand supports numerous resident and volunteer programs with a dedicated and growing membership.
