Pastoral Services
The Pastoral Services Department is staffed by two rabbis. Daily and Shabbat services are held in our beautiful Kohl Synagogue and are attended by Home residents, as well as residents from the surrounding neighborhood and the community. Holiday observances include religious services as well as celebrations such as Seders, Chanukah, Purim, Sukkot and life cycle celebrations. Those residents who are not Jewish have full access to the religious leader of their choice, and regular ecumenical services are held.
The Pastoral Services Department also supports the Caring Partners Volunteer Program, which has been recognized by the Last Acts Foundation as a model program for end-of-life care. The Caring Partners Program provides specially trained volunteers when desired by the family, for those nearing the end of their lives at the Home.
